Silicon Carbide is the hardest, fastest cutting abrasive available used to remove heavy rust scale, corrosion or powder coating from steel or other hard materials and is an excellent choice for surface preparation prior to painting. Silicon Carbide stays sharp and is ideal when fast strip rates are desired. This abrasive penetrates deep into the substrate giving a high degree of etch. Silicon Carbide is typically used in a blast cabinet or where the abrasive is being recycled.
